Answer Writing Practice - 1

Hello Nidhi g.. based upon the answer you have published, i wish to make following observations:

1. Introduction part is good, you have started with a quote and further augmented it with a fact. That is a good practice. Keep following it.

2. Body of the answer is fine but needs a lot of improvement. I would suggest that you should try to stay in context of the question asked. You have gone out of context at various places. Write what is asked in the question and not what you know. You have missed the keyword and theme asked in the question. You have not talked about the demand and supply side of drug menace i.e. goldern cresent, golden triangle, involvement of neighbours in India's growing drug menace and how it has increased over a period of time. Moroever, cause of increasing trend is missing in the question and also its associated impacts.

3. In second part of the quesion, though you have tried to explain the impacts at personal, social and national angle but sociological analysis is missing in your answer i.e. socio-economic, socio-cultural, its impact on family, marriage, state and other social institutions. You have used the words "our govt is hardly trying to tackle the problem" in last page, which looks inappropriate since you are too critical about the government which is a bad practice. Government is taking many steps to tackle the problem of drug abuse which cannot be neglected.

4. Whenever, there are two parts in the question, try to maintain a uniformity in the answer, the space used for both the parts should be same and since it is a 20 marks question, try to increase the content and its quality in the answer. Try to innovate and make your answer creative through use of charts and figures if possible, to fetch that extra mark in the exam

   
   

5. Try to work on conclusion part. Your conclusion is not upto the mark according to me. It should leave an impression on the examiner and also complete the answer which is missing in your answer.

Overall, you have written a good answer. Answer is presented really well and is legible. There is proper gap between points. Focus on the points i have mentioned above and keep writing the answers. I shall be sharing more questions in due course of time.
